I seem to have fooled everyone at work into thinking I’m an extrovert.
“But you’re so good with customers!”
I spent three years in retail hell. I’m good at acting.
“But you’re so talkative when you’re here!”
Yes. Because socialization is a requirement of the job and I don’t hate you all enough to wall you off.
“But you’re so good on the phones!”
I hate the sound of a phone ringing and this is the best way to make it stop without negative consequences.
As an extrovert who isn’t ideal at picking up on certain cues, the amount of introverts who pass themselves off as extroverts keeps screwing with me. I just jump in there all golden retriever style and then realize that no they didn’t /actually/ want to talk with me about their personal feelings for like three hours, they’re just great actors.
I’d like to thank the Academy.
But from afar, where I don’t have to be there in person.
Perhaps I could thank them via text message or telegraph.
